17 Korean startup founders named Forbes‘ young innovators

Founders‌ ‌and‌ ‌leaders‌ ‌of‌ ‌17‌ ‌rising‌ ‌startups‌ ‌based‌ ‌in‌ ‌South‌ ‌Korea‌ ‌were‌ introdced ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌latest‌ ‌Forbes‌ ‌30‌ ‌Under‌ ‌30‌ ‌Asia, which highlights the sucess of 300 young innovators, ‌the‌ ‌Ministry‌ ‌of‌ ‌SMEs‌ ‌and‌ ‌Startups‌ ‌said‌ ‌on‌ April 21.‌ ‌ ‌

Because‌ ‌the‌ ‌list‌ ‌counts‌ ‌co-founders‌ ‌as‌ ‌one entry,‌ 26‌ ‌individual‌ ‌names‌ ‌were included‌ ‌in ‌‌the‌ ‌list‌ ‌that‌ ‌featured‌ ‌10‌ ‌sectors‌ ‌including‌ ‌consumer‌ ‌technology‌ ‌and‌ ‌retail‌ ‌and‌ ‌e-commerce.‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Seventeen‌ ‌South‌ ‌Korean‌ ‌startups‌ in the list ‌that were founded or led by millennials and Gen Zs‌ ‌are‌ ‌SelectStar,‌ ‌Codeit,‌ ‌Carpenstreet,‌ ‌Sleek,‌ ‌TableManager,‌ ‌Devotionfoods,‌ ‌Happy‌ ‌Moonday,‌ ‌Glorang,‌ ‌The‌ ‌Carbon‌ ‌Studio,‌ ‌ReDwit,‌ ‌Classum,‌ ‌Juni‌ ‌Essentials,‌ ‌Neubility‌ ‌and‌ ‌Sentbe.‌ ‌ ‌SelectStar, which provide AI-backed data collection and annotation service, was featured honorees in the enterprise technology sector.

The‌ ‌MSS celebrated the inclusion of Koreans companies in the lising and also pointed out ‌that‌ ‌all‌ ‌of‌ ‌these‌ ‌startups‌ have been ‌beneficiaries‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌ministry’s‌ ‌various‌ ‌support‌ ‌programs‌ ‌for‌ ‌startups‌ ‌that‌ ‌are‌ ‌meant‌ ‌to‌ ‌help‌ ‌the‌ ‌growth‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌country’s‌ ‌up-and-coming‌ ‌enterprises.‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Kwon‌ ‌Chil-seung,‌ ‌the‌ ‌minister‌ ‌of‌ ‌MSS,‌ ‌said‌ ‌that‌ ‌“Earlier‌ ‌this‌ ‌year‌ ‌at‌ ‌Consumer‌ ‌Electronics‌ ‌Show,‌ ‌many‌ ‌Korean‌ ‌startups‌ ‌received‌ ‌CES‌ ‌Innovation‌ ‌Awards.‌ ‌The‌ ‌Forbes‌ ‌list‌ ‌also‌ proves that‌ ‌the‌ ‌performance‌ ‌of‌ ‌Korean‌ ‌startups‌ ‌is‌ ‌acknowledged‌ ‌abroad.”‌ ‌ ‌ ‌“We‌ ‌will‌ ‌do‌ ‌our‌ ‌best‌ ‌to‌ ‌reflect‌ ‌the‌ ‌voices‌ ‌of‌ ‌young‌ ‌people‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌field‌ ‌so‌ ‌that‌ ‌more‌ ‌young‌ ‌people‌ ‌can‌ ‌start‌ ‌their‌ ‌own‌ ‌businesses‌ ‌and‌ ‌expand‌ ‌into‌ ‌the‌ ‌global‌ ‌market,”‌ ‌Kwon‌ ‌added.‌ ‌ ‌

‌The‌ ‌US‌ ‌magazine‌ ‌said‌ ‌it‌ ‌chose ‌a‌ ‌total‌ ‌of‌ ‌300‌ ‌leaders‌ ‌in‌ ‌10‌ ‌sectors,‌ ‌selected‌ ‌from‌ ‌over‌ ‌2,500‌ ‌nominations‌ ‌from 22 Asian countries and‌ ‌vetted‌ ‌by‌ ‌a‌ ‌list‌ ‌of‌ ‌judges.‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌
