Genesis BBQ Group is turning to AI, data and robotics to streamline store operations and maintain consistent product quality as the fried chicken franchise accelerates its global expansion.

The company unveiled three growth strategies — “AX Transformation,” “Globalization 2.0” and “Sustainable Platform” — at its 31st anniversary ceremony held Tuesday at Chicken University in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.

Under its AX Transformation strategy, BBQ plans to integrate data from store management, customer service, logistics and quality control to improve efficiency and decision-making. It will also introduce food technology and robotics across its operations.

The company expects the initiative to reduce franchisees’ operational burden, allowing them to focus more on food quality and customer service. BBQ also plans to develop a system for maintaining consistent standards across its international outlets.

Its Globalization 2.0 strategy focuses on expanding its overseas network while creating business models tailored to individual markets. BBQ said it would maintain its core operating standards while adapting menus, distribution systems and store formats to local food cultures and consumer preferences.

The Sustainable Platform initiative seeks to combine food technology, AI, robotics and green technologies to develop more sustainable food-and-beverage store models. It plans to gradually introduce smart stores, automated cooking systems and environmentally friendly kitchens.

“The key to global business is maintaining our taste and quality in every country while developing models suited to individual markets,” Genesis BBQ Group Chair Yoon Hong-geun said.

“We will use AI and data to build a global management system that delivers consistent quality worldwide.”
