[THE INVESTOR] Korean tech firm LG Electronics has showcased a new smartwatch alongside its signature LG V40 ThinQ smartphone in the United States, industry sources in Seoul said on Oct. 4.

The company’s first hybrid smartwatch, the W7, combines mechanical hands with a digital 1.2-inch touch display running on Wear OS by Google, they said.

The new wearable tech lasts up to two days on a 30-percent improved battery and can function as a conventional watch without recharging for up to 100 days.

The watch, with a price tag of US$450, comes in cloud silver.

LG said it has no plans at present to launch it in the South Korean market.
