[THE INVESTOR] Korean Air on April 16 said it would take “appropriate action” after the police conclude an internal probe to decide whether they should open a full-fledged investigation.

The investigation would focus on Cho Hyun-min, the Korean Air executive who according to multiple sources, has periodically abused her staff and employees at related ad agencies.

“We want to take a cautious approach, because the police are still investigating,” Korean Air said in a statement.

On April 12, news reports said that she abused an ad agency employee. Cho admitted that she pushed the employee, but did not throw water at his face as some reports said.

Afterward, a clip surfaced online, which supposedly features Cho screaming insults at a colleague.

She left for Vietnam shortly after the ad agency incident, but returned early morning on April 15 as the situation began to snowball. At the airport, she repeated a previous apology she had posted on her Facebook account.

Cho is the younger daughter of Hanjin Group Chairman Cho Yang-ho. She is also the sister of Cho Hyun-ah, the former Korean Air executive who forced an international flight to return to the gate after she heavily berated crew members for the way a bag of macadamia nuts were served.

Their brother Cho Won-tae is the Korean Air CEO.
