[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics on Jan. 18 unveiled dozens of air conditioners equipped with its artificial intelligence technology.

Whisen ThinQ air conditioners can learn customers’ language patterns while also sensing temperature, humidity and air quality due to its DeepThinQ deep-learning platform.

Dan Song, president of LG Electronics’ home appliances division, said the more a customer uses Whisen ThinQ air conditioners, the better the air conditioners understand the user.

The new models mark the first time that LG Electronics has applied its AI brand ThinQ to its Whisen models.

The new air conditioners equipped with DeepThinQ can recognize when a customer says, “It’s hot,” and ask the customer whether he or she wants to change the temperature, according to the company.

The air conditioner can be controlled with artificial intelligence speakers made by LG, Google, Amazon, SK Telecom and other firms.

Prices for the new air conditioners range from 2 million won (US$1,900) to 4.7 million won.
