[THE INVESTOR] Hyundai Heavy Industries said on Jan. 16 that it has clinched a deal worth 50 billion won (US$46 million) to supply 21 engines to power plants in Indonesia.

Under the deal with Indonesia’s state power utility, PT PLN, HHI will supply 21 HiMSEN engines and associated equipment to seven power plants across the archipelago nation from September to March 2019.

The HiMSEN engine, a medium-sized unit developed by HHI, is used for ship propulsion and power generation in onshore power plants.

The engines to be installed in Indonesia can both run on diesel and natural gas, according to the company.

It was the first deal that HHI has won in Indonesia’s power generation market.
