[THE INVESTOR] Mobile carriers SK Telecom and KT on May 24 showcased their latest solutions at an information technology convention.

During the World IT Show 2017, which kicked off in Seoul, SK Telecom featured technologies for self-driving automobiles connected to the 5G network. It also showcased AI services that can help users throughout their everyday lives and provide Internet of Things solutions.

KT also showcased the C-DRX technology, which allows users to save battery when using smartphones. While smartphones had to continuously communicate with signal stations, the technology minimized such procedures, leading to power efficiency.

The tech fair, which runs through May 27, has attracted some 500 businesses from 57 countries around the world.
