Korean battery maker Samsung SDI announced Monday that it will participate in InterBattery Europe 2025, to be held in Munich, Germany, as part of its effort to strengthen its presence in the region’s rapidly growing energy storage market.
The exhibition, a part of Europe’s largest energy industry gathering, The Smarter E Europe, will host around 200 companies and run from June 7 to 9.
As Europe’s data center energy demand is projected to triple between 2024 and 2030, Samsung SDI plans to showcase products designed to deliver stable power to the facilities, alongside its latest battery innovations.
“Samsung SDI will showcase its portfolio of energy storage system batteries optimized for a wide range of customer applications at the exhibition,” said a Samsung SDI official. “Visitors will be able to get a glimpse of how Samsung SDI’s energy storage system batteries are connected to everyday life.”
At the event, Samsung SDI will publicly unveil its uninterruptible power supply system, the U8A1.
According to the company, the U8A1 is designed to supply power to data centers during outages, featuring ultra-high power output and high power density, while occupying minimal space.
The U8A1 has also been selected as a finalist for The Smarter E Award, which recognizes top innovations showcased during the exhibition, making Samsung SDI the only Korean battery-maker waiting for the award this year.
The company will also highlight the Samsung Battery Box 1.5, which was previously displayed at InterBattery Seoul 2025 in March.
Shaped like a 20-foot-long container, the energy storage solution is equipped with an advanced fire suppression system that injects extinguishing material directly into overheating cells, offering enhanced safety, the company said.
