DB Robotics, South Korea’s only robotics company specializing in industrial safety and accident prevention, announced Thursday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea Southern Power Co. and SK Shieldus to develop and deploy specialized robots to enhance the nation’s power grid stability and workplace safety.
The agreement focuses on developing and implementing robots designed to remove foreign materials from cooling water intakes and control high-voltage circuit breakers, the company said.
DB Robotics will lead the design and development of these robots, while Kospo will deploy the technology at its Andong Bit Dream Headquarters.
“Kospo is committed to ensuring the safety of its workers by automating high-risk tasks,” said Yoon Sang-ok, head of Kospo’s Andong Bit Dream division. “Through these efforts, we aim to enhance safety and efficiency while protecting workers from hazardous environments.”
DB Robotics emphasized its technological expertise in creating robots capable of functioning in extreme environments.
“DB Robotics has a strong focus on developing specialized robots for extreme conditions. This collaboration will allow us to provide advanced robotics solutions applicable to various industrial sites,” Vice Chairman of DB Robotics Lee Bae said.
The partnership, according to the company, is expected to strengthen DB Robotics’ position as a leader in specialized robotics, reducing risks associated with hazardous tasks and improving operational efficiency.
