LG Uplus CEO Hong Bum-shik recently visited the company’s research and development center in Daejeon, emphasizing his commitment to reinforcing fundamentals such as quality, safety and security.

“If we build strong fundamentals and enhance capabilities such as customer analysis, data-driven strategies and collaboration frameworks, I am confident that LG Uplus can emerge as a market leader not only in telecommunications but also in newly expanding competitive sectors,” Hong told employees during his first on-site activity of the year.

The Daejeon R&D Center serves as a critical hub for LG Uplus, focusing on network operations, recovery training for employees and quality assurance through rigorous testing and experimentation.

“Only with a solid foundation, can we deliver differentiated value,” he said. “I urge you to continuously test and validate network quality under extreme conditions to ensure stability.”

Highlighting the significance of safety, Hong pledged unwavering investment to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment.

In addition to inspecting the facilities, the CEO listened to employee concerns, stressing the value of people in driving the company’s success.

He also announced plans to elevate the company’s standards for quality, safety and security to meet customer expectations. “We aim to create an organizational culture where teams feel empowered to propose the necessary support for building these capabilities,” Hong said.

The CEO’s visit to the Daejeon R&D Center marks the beginning of his broader plan for 2025: engaging directly with field operations, fostering communication with employees and sharing the company’s vision for the future.
