Hanwha Life on Friday delivered a mobile welfare service vehicle to Jakarta, Indonesia, to support the physical and mental health of women and children.
"Visiting Family Center" vans were handed over to the Jakarta government Thursday. The ceremony was attended by around 200 people, including Hanwha Life Senior Executive Vice President of Communications Hong Jeong-pyo, Jakarta Governor Teguh Setyabudi, government officials, child protection agency representatives and residents.
The "Visiting Family Center" is a retrofitted vehicle equipped with counseling rooms, nursing facilities and rest areas. Operating on a rotating schedule, the vehicle visits neighborhoods on designated days to offer psychological counseling and support programs.
By bringing services directly to the community, the initiative aims to improve accessibility, allowing residents to access welfare services without long commutes.
During the delivery ceremony, attendees toured the counseling service vehicle, experienced the services firsthand and provided feedback on the program's practicality and efficiency.
The "Visiting Family Center" builds on Hanwha Life's "Digital Family Centers" established last year, following the insurer's collaboration with the Jakarta government and Save the Children, which began in 2023. In partnership with local child centers, two digital centers were set up in Jakarta to offer mental health and counseling services for women and children.
Since entering Indonesia in 2012, Hanwha Life has expanded its business by establishing 26 networks nationwide. The company has also contributed to the nation's welfare by continuing social initiatives, such as building community child centers and establishing youth entrepreneurship academies.
"We are pleased to bring essential support closer to residents through the Visiting Family Center," Vice President Hong Jeong-pyo said. "We remain committed to fulfilling our social responsibility and enhancing the quality of life in the Indonesian community."
