Mirae Asset Securities, a leading brokerage house in Seoul, said Monday that its web dramas have been captivating younger audiences.

Since 2021, Mirae Asset has been releasing its web series, Future Company, on its official YouTube channel. Subsequent seasons, including "Journey to Mirae," have established the series as one of the company’s most notable digital content offerings.

In October 2024, the fourth season, "To Your Mirae," was launched, focusing on themes of global investment and innovation. The series has garnered 3.2 million total views, with over 350,000 of them coming from overseas viewers. Millennials and Gen Z make up 68 percent of the viewers, with tens of thousands of comments reflecting its popularity.

The latest season simplifies complex financial concepts -- such as market conditions, exchange rates and stock price projections -- making them accessible to a broader audience. It also portrays the romantic relationships of the characters with realism and offers an glimpse into the office life of young professionals working in securities firms.

At the heart of the story is Kang Mi-rae, an employee at Mirae Asset with an academic background from the US. In a pivotal scene, Kang suggests the media team shift their focus to creating content that highlights US stocks rather than Indian ones.

As Kang navigates his career, he unexpectedly forms a connection with Kim Ji-won. Despite their contrasting perspectives on life, the two develop a deeper understanding of each other over time.

The series emphasizes the importance of global investment and positions innovative industries as key areas of focus. Kang’s interest in emerging sectors, such as aerospace, drives him to promote Mirae Asset’s AI-powered services and thematic exchange-traded funds, which aim to diversify investments.

Mirae Asset has utilized AI technology to enhance the quality of the web dramas, including visuals and original soundtracks, which helped reduce production time by 40 percent and costs by 85 percent. The production team includes staff who have worked on acclaimed projects such as Squid Game, Veteran, Extreme Job, Our Beloved Summer and Lovely Runner.

One YouTube commenter praised the series, saying, “It makes sense if this was released as an OTT series.”

“We have created YouTube content that connects with the younger generation, promoting sound investment practices,” a Mirae Asset official stated. “Through this unique global content, we aim to reinforce our position as global investment specialists.”
