[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Display said on Nov. 12 it has started mass production of its ultra-high definition UHD video walls to meet rising demand for high-quality screens from the global digital signage industry.

The wholly owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics said it started the production of 65-inch UHD video walls in October, providing clients with new displays with four times better resolution than Full HD products, along with a reduced bezel for improved design.

Samsung Display said while displays with improved resolution normally face hurdles in narrowing bezels, its new solution comes with what it calls the “ultra-narrow bezel” of 3.7 millimeters, minimizing the gap between panels.

The company said the new solution is significant as clients can connect a number of displays to create multi-vision signage in UHD quality.

It noted that connecting four 65-inch UHD video walls will create a similar size with signage made with nine 46-inch panels.

The company expects the demand for video walls with improved resolutions to rise, just as the global TV market did, claiming that the 65-inch product will lead the market for premium digital signage.
