[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics said on July 17 it has started sales of its latest G7 ThinQ smartphone in the Central and South American markets as it expands overseas sales of the flagship device.

The Korean tech giant said the G7 ThinQ reached Brazil and Mexico last week, claiming the new device now has presence in major markets around the globe including North America, Europe, and Asia.

LG said the G7 ThinQ is expected to attract customers through its top-notch wide-angle camera and premium audio system.

The device was first launched in Korea in May.

The company, which has been losing money from the mobile business, has been seeking to bolster overseas sales to revitalize its performance.

LG took up 9.1 percent of the Latin American smartphone market in 2017 in terms of units, the data compiled by industry tracker Counterpoint showed. It marked a 0.9 percentage point drop on-year.
