Blockchain messaging app BeeChat makes grand debut in Korea
[THE INVESTOR] The world’s first blockchain-based mobile messenger service BeeChat made its grand debut in Korea on June 30.
Over 300 blockchain experts, investors, traders and professionals, gathered at the “BeeChat Launching Show 2018” held at Coex in Gangnam-gu, southern Seoul, which was also broadcast live via Facebook.
“BeeChat, with a goal to link people and link blockchain, is one of the most active digital coin communities in the world. It has more than 1,000 active communities established in the network and we offer various cryptocurrency wallets to users,” said Christina Xie, CEO of BeeLabs, at the event. “Today, BeeChat officially launched in Korea. We will continue to work to create a blockchain ecosystem around the world, with a goal to become the largest blockchain-based messenger by 2019.”

“BeeChat aims to become an open platform for developers to create innovation on our public blockchain,” said Wang Jian, principal engineer at BeeChat. “We allow third parties to utilize our blockchain network to develop applications.”
Jian stressed BeeChat’s core technology behind the messenger that maximizes connection without delay, allowing 100,000 users to chat simultaneously. They are self-developed TCP long connection technology, combination of long and short links and expanded SSD storage, among others. To ensure security for coin traders, BeeChat adopted both the cold wallet and hot wallet, as well as face recognition and certificate authentication for withdrawal.
At the launch, many blockchain professionals were invited to speak, including Shi Yanqiang, founder of Block360; Orc Guo, co-founder of EON; Wang Ryang, Armors CEO; and Hana Zhang, DAEX founder, among others, who shared their visions about their projects.
K-pop girl group Live High was invited as special guests to perform at the event as well. BeeChat airdropped 100 million won (US$89,600) worth of coins throughout the course of the event to participants.
The app is now available for download at its website for both Android and iOS users, available in 30 different languages.
