LG releases speakers with Meridian Audio’s tech
[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics said on May 31 it has released the LG XBOOM Go speakers equipped with high-end audio technology from Britain-based Meridian Audio.
The Korean consumer electronics giant said three versions of the portable LG XBOOM Go speakers will be available in the market. The new speakers support “Clear Vocal” and “Enhanced Bass” modes for different music.
LG claimed the new speakers, the PK7, PK6 and PK3, are able to deliver the most optimized sound by combining technologies of the two companies.
Meridian has a reputation for successfully combining analog and digital audio technologies, LG said.
The PK7 speaker can play music for up to 22 hours, and the PK5 can also run for up to 18 hours consecutively, LG said. The PK3, which will be released in July, is an IPX7 waterproof speaker that can be submerged in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.
“LG will tap deeper into Korea’s market for portable speakers through LG XBOOM Go, which embraces the quality sound technology of Meridian,” the company said.
