[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics plans to start sales of its tentatively named V35 smartphone, based on the LG V30 smartphone released last year, in the near future, industry sources said on May 23.

The LG V35 is expected to be released in the United States in August exclusively through AT&T, although the date for Korea has not yet been confirmed, the sources said.

The V35 smartphone will maintain the same design as the V30, featuring an 18:9 ratio 6-inch QHD+ OLED display.

The new device, however, will embrace some of the latest features adopted by the recently introduced G7 smartphone, including the new AI platform.

In March, the company released the V30S ThinQ and the V30S ThinQ Plus, which were also updated versions of the original V30 smartphone launched in September 2017.

LG Electronics plans to release more budget models later this year under the Q series as well.
