[THE INVESTOR] Bayer Korea on April 17 announced the names of three startups who have been selected for its open innovation program in consultation with KOTRA.

This is the second round of Grants4Apps Korea, the domestic chapter of Bayer’s Grants4Apps Accelerator. The edition was established to help local startups in the digital health care industry develop their businesses and enter global markets.

The three finalists include Is it fresh, a disposable Internet of Things sensor chip developer; Nuri Bio, an analysis reagent developer for early diagnosis of cancer; and “DEEP MEDI, a developer of a blood pressure-measuring solution using cameras on the back of ordinary smartphones.

“Grants4Apps Korea is a distinguished program in that it offers practical support for startups with Bayer Korea employees directly engaged in mentoring to impart their specialized knowledge and knowhow in the life science field,” said Ingrid Drechsel, the President of Bayer Korea.

The startups will be offered customized mentoring and consulting by Bayer Korea and KOTRA employees as well as external experts, on top of working space offered at the company’s office for about three months, from April to July.
