Samsung showcases first 3-D LED-screen theater in Switzerland
[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Electronics said on March 21 it launched the industry’s first 3-D LED-screen theater in Switzerland, tapping deeper into the entertainment business sector.
Samsung said it introduced the new top-notch cinema screen at Arena Cinemas, located inside Sihlcity shopping mall.
The Korean tech giant first introduced the Cinema LED screen in 2017, supplying related technology to theaters in its home market and China. The latest installment marks the debut of the solution in Europe, as well as the first global showcase of the 3-D version.
The 3D Cinema LED, measuring 10.3 meters wide and 5.4 meters tall, supports high-definition quality videos, along with High Dynamic Range technology, which is capable of delivering more vivid color. Both 2-D and 3-D movies can be played on the screen.
Samsung Electronics said its solution is significant as the screen delivers clear images even for 3-D content without any distortion, with audiences being able to enjoy excellent quality motion pictures regardless of where they are seated.
The screen also won the Digital Cinema Initiatives certificate and is equipped with a JBL audio system powered by Harman, a Samsung affiliate.
