LG Uplus’ net profit jumps 15% in Q4
[THE INVESTOR] LG Uplus, Korea’s third-largest mobile carrier by sales, said on Feb. 1 its fourth-quarter net profit rose 15 percent from a year earlier due to rapid growth in internet business.
Net income came to 135.6 billion (US$126.60 million) in the October-December period, compared with a profit of 118 billion during the same period last year, LG Uplus said in a regulatory filing.
The mobile carrier said its operating profit reached 201.3 billion won in the fourth quarter, up 9.2 percent from a year earlier.
Sales rose 6.6 percent on-year to 3.32 trillion won over the cited period.
