[THE INVESTOR] Three manufacturers of imported cars will recall more than 1,800 vehicles in Korea due to faulty components, the Transport Ministry said on Jan. 18.

The announcement is the latest in a series of recall orders issued by the ministry to both domestic and foreign companies.

The three companies -- Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot and Citroen -- plan to recall 15 different models totaling 1,836 vehicles, the ministry said in a statement.

The models include Mercedes-Benz’s GLC 220d 4MATIC coupe, Peugeot’s 3008 1.6 Blue-HDi SUV and Citroen’s Grand C4 Picasso 1.6 Blue-HDi SUV, it said.

The problems include faulty fuel pipes and fuel tank shields in the Peugeot 3008 1.6 Blue-HDi, defective bonnet parts in the Citroen‘s Grand C4 Picasso 1.6 Blue-HDi and flawed light-emitting diode headlights in the Mercedes-Benz’s GLC 220d 4MATIC, the statement said.

Vehicle owners can visit designated repair and service centers to have the parts replaced free of charge, it said.
