[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics said on Jan. 3 that it will introduce new televisions equipped with its artificial intelligence platform DeepThinQ at a US tech fair next week.

The South Korean tech giant will unveil 2018 editions of premium TVs, including the OLED TV ThinQ and the Super Ultra HD TV ThinQ, at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show, which will kick off on Jan. 9 in Las Vegas.

The new TVs will be equipped with DeepThinQ as well as Google Inc.’s AI program Google Assistant to allow users to operate TVs with voice commands and connect to other home appliances powered by internet of things technologies.

Users can make voice commands, such as “Please find my photos taken in Las Vegas last year from my Google account” or “Find movies starring Scarlett Johansson.” According to LG, viewers can also ask questions, such as “Who is the main character of this drama I am watching?”

The TVs support High Dynamic Range content, which allows screens to deliver vivid pictures by optimizing brightness and offering improved display quality. They will also support the Dolby Atmos system, which delivers sharp and realistic sound.
