[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Electronics said on Nov. 16 it started sales of the Galaxy Tab A tablet PCs in Korea, which boast cutting-edge features and an affordable price.

The 8-inch Galaxy Tab A comes with an 8 megapixel camera on the back with an aperture of F1.9. It also comes with a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

Samsung said the tablet PC is also easily portable as the Wi-Fi edition only weighs 360 grams, while that of the LTE network version stands at 364 grams.

Through “Home Mode,” the tablet PC can display time, weather, and other necessary information even while charging. The battery capacity stands at 5,000mAh, with a data storage capacity of 16GB, which can be extended by 256GB through a micro SD slot.

The product is also equipped with several features of Samsung‘s artificial intelligence platform Bixby, including Bixby Home and Bixby Reminder. It marks the first time for a Samsung tablet PC to boast such features.

The price of the Wi-Fi version is 264,000 won (US$238), and the LTE version comes with a price tag of 308,000 won, available through the country’s three mobile carriers.
