DHL Express targets faster deliveries in Korea
[THE INVESTOR] DHL Express aims to speed up its deliveries in Korea after the expansion of its Asian hub in Hong Kong by 2022, its top executive said on Nov. 14.
The global logistics firm has decided to inject 440 billion won (US$394.37 million) to expand the DHL Central Asia Hub in Hong Kong, which caters to the Asia-Pacific region.

“Our investment is not intended only for business in Hong Kong. It is for all the countries in Asia including Korea,” DHL Express CEO Ken Allen was quoted as saying in an interview with a local news report.
“After the expansion, Korean companies and individuals will be able to send their packages faster.”
The expansion took place in order to meet rapidly growing international trade in Asia. The quantity of goods transported through the Hong Kong hub have increased 12 percent annually over the last 10 years, according to industry sources.
By 2020, the hub will span 47,000 square meters and will be able to process 125,000 shipments per hour, up from the current 75,000.
