[THE INVESTOR] South Korea’s LG Electronics said on Nov. 14 that it has unveiled a full lineup of premium medical visual equipment at the Medica 2017 event being held from Nov. 13 through Nov. 16 in Germany, with an aim to expand the company’s leadership in premium electronics to the medical market.

At the exhibition, LG introduced a diagnosis monitor with an internal calibrator that enhances color representation to help patients see their results of magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography tests in an easier manner.

LG now has a full lineup of medical diagnosis apparatus, including the latest diagnosis monitor, a previous monitor for clinical tests, a digitalized X-ray detector and monitors for surgery.

The company is applying its technological know-how from manufacturing television sets with premium display panels to the production of medical monitors, based on the judgement that representing color contrasts, especially grey tones, is the most crucial for such equipment.

All of the LG monitors for hospitals adopt the company’s proprietary backlight technology that maintains brightness consistently.
