[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics plans to showcase its new flagship V30 on Aug. 29 at the IFA trade show in Berlin.

The Korean tech giant will reveal the much-awaited handset, a day before the official launch of the six-day IFA. Cho Jun-ho, who heads LG Electronics’ mobile business, is expected to deliver the presentation during the showcase event that runs for 1 1/2 hours.

So far, LG Electronics gave hints about most of the key features of the LG V30, in an apparent bid to catch up with Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Note 8 that was shown off last week.

The 6-inch LG V30 will come with a screen ratio of 18:9 with an OLED display. The device will also feature a top-notch dual-lens camera arrangement with an aperture of F1.6. This will make the lens the fastest in terms of aperture among key flagship phones sold in the market.

“We believe that the LG V30 is competitive both in terms of design and features,” an official from LG Electronics said.

The LG V30 is widely expected to hit the market Sept. 15, at the same time as the Galaxy Note 8, although the release may be delayed.
