[THE INVESTOR] Asian Venture Capital Journal, an Acuris company, is holding a private equity forum in Seoul next month with more than 250 senior industry professionals gathering to discuss pending industry issues.

The 2017 AVCJ Korea Forum, which will take place at Four Seasons Hotel Seoul on Sept. 7, will offer insights into investment opportunities in Korea -- a standout market with ample large-cap firms and a solid mid-market deal flow. The gathering is also expected to be a high-profile networking venue, with more than 90 local and overseas institutional investors who are looking to invest across the globe.

During the one-day forum, Jeff Diehl, managing partner and head of investments of Adams Street Partners, will deliver the keynote speech, followed by panel discussions with global and regional leaders who will focus on economic trends that are impacting the global private equity market, and how investors can differentiate themselves.

Experts will also discuss optimized strategies for Korea, and where the industry is headed. In particular, the discussions will deal with Korea’s ongoing chaebol reforms and related regulations, priority of the Moon Jae-in administration. Another area of focus will be the surging volume of M&As and cross-border activities in Korea as a part of strengthened government initiatives.

Further, the discussion will address strategies for adding value to Korean companies that have the skill sets and capabilities to successfully expand abroad.

Participants will include: Nicholas Bloy, co-founder and managing partner of Navis Capital Partners; Michael Choi, senior deputy director of Global M&A Center at KOTRA; Steve Gross, executive director of Maquarie Infrastructure & Real Assets; and Jang Dong-hun, chief investment officer of Public Officials Benefit Association.
