[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics on Aug. 8 announced that its new flagship smartphone LG V30 will be showcased later this month.

Through an invitation sent to reporters, LG said the showcase event for the device, the successor of the V20 released last year, will be held in Berlin on Aug. 31 at 9 a.m. (Berlin time), and it will be aired through YouTube, as well as social media platforms.

The company said the 6-inch LG V30 will come with what it calls 18:9 ratio Full Vision display, which minimizes bezels to provide users with a wider screen.

The circles on the invitation also hint at the V30 coming with state-of-the-art camera features. The invitation had three words -- lights, camera, action -- in an apparent bid to promote the smartphone’s camera feature.

Through teasers released earlier, the company said the OLED Full Vision display will allow the 6-inch V30 to actually feel smaller in one‘s hands compared with the 5.7-inch LG V20. The company claimed it reduced the bezels at the top and bottom by 20 percent and 50 percent, respectively.

The logo of LG Electronics will be located on the back, seeking what the company calls a “minimalist design” for the front.
