LG Electronics taps India with OLED solution
[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics said on July 28 it successfully installed a large-sized OLED sign at a shopping mall located in India, taking its first step into the major market.
The Korean consumer electronics giant said the sign, made with 70 units of flexible 55-inch OLED displays, was installed at Ambience Mall in Gurugram, located southwest of New Delhi.
The sign is 6 meters wide and 5.7 meters tall, which can be observed through all angles.
The company said the OLED sign is thinner and capable of delivering more vivid colors compared with LCD options.
“The project is significant as LG Electronics effectively secured a bridgehead to penetrate the OLED signage market,” the company said.
