Samsung chairman owns Seoul’s 5 most expensive houses

His house in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, co-owned by his wife Hong Ra-hee, is estimated to be worth 22.1 billion won (US$19.51 million), making it the most expensive house not only in the capital but also in the country.
Another house in the neighborhood, co-owned by his elder daughter and Hotel Shilla CEO Boo-jin came in second, with a 20.1 billion won price tag.
This is the first time an individual housing has topped 20 billion won by official appraisal in Korea.
Chairman Lee and his wife also have a 15.7 billion won house in the neighborhood, while he owns two more in Jung-gu and Gangnam-gu, estimated to be worth 13.4 billion won and 13 billion won, respectively.
The total number of individual housings in Seoul was approximately 324,000 and those estimated to be over 600 million won accounted for 10.6 percent.
In surrounding Gyeonggi Province, Lee’s nephew and Shinsegae Vice Chairman Chung Yong-jin’s residence in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si topped the list valued at 9.9 billion won.
