BIOGRAPHY
Chang Se-joon was born in 1974 as the eldest of Chang Hyung-jin, chairman of YoungPoong Corp. and the second son of group cofounder Chang Byung-hee.
He went to Korea University and has a master’s degree in biochemistry from University of Southern California. He joined the family business in 2009 as an executive Signetics, an affiliate that specializes in packaging for semiconductors.
Since 2013, he has been in charge of YoungPoong Electronics, a key affiliate and the core of the cross-shareholding structure of the group. He also is the largest shareholder of the holding company of the group. YoungPoong boasts dominates market shares in zinc in Korea, and is the 28th largest conglomerate by total asset (2015).
He has a brother and a sister. Brother Se-hwan is in charge of Sorin Corporation and is the second largest shareholder of the holding company.
